Don’t be impressed with the pic used for the food review of
the newly launched LINK ROOM in Bandra. It takes the place of the earlier venue
where La Ruche was operating from.
Never before have we faced such atrocious service and
meals, especially at the launch party.
SERVICE
The waiters were incompetent ‘wadi wala’ bachhas who didn’t
know anything about the dishes being served. So do get used to ‘pijjaa’ and ‘veg
appetijers’. Despite mentioning to them time and again that my friend and me
were veggies for the evening, their memory retention was zero.
When asked what the dishes had as an exclusivity with fancy
names like “rocket’ or ‘bullet’, they had no clue. It was an arduous task to
get someone to give me the full name for their starter dish ‘Veg zucchini wrapped
in ricotta and pistachios’. When I asked them to get the Chef to speak to me,
he didn’t come up but yes the next serving of the same dish was having some
pistachios.
Starters served were cold.
DRINKS
No great shakes since no signature drinks on their
list. A screwdriver was juicy than
having the flavour of the vodka. No fancy frills or glasses to make the drink
look better.
One noticed the chef laying out the table for photo shots
but somehow none of the same dishes were being sampled.
OVERALL RATING
Avoid the place which is totally mismanaged. The only
consoling feature was the new band Kesariya, which tried their level best to
infuse some energy at the launch event.
